Lynne Hale, whose job puts her in close proximity to George Lucas' day-to-day work, started her video diary with a Hi-8 camera as work began on Star Wars: Episode I. As the movie's production phase neared in 1997, she brought on board Jon Shenk, Mark Becker, and Aaron Lubarsky, three recent graduates of Stanford's documentary film program. Together, they've collected a mixture of footage that documents the creative filmmaking process from the very first day of writing through to the end of postproduction.
